Welcome!

Hello!

I am Brooke Riley and this is my blog. Well, not much of a blog and more of an online journal. I am here to share my experiences and if you'd like to read them, great! They just might help you.

The inspiration for starting this came from when my boyfriend dumped me. I know this sounds like any old teenage girl's rant about boyfriends and petty things, and maybe it is, but here's a collection of my stories.

It began as any other regular Tuesday morning, despite it having been Memorial Day weekend the couple days before. I drove to school, passed the same old sights: the Dairy Queen, the elementary school, the roundabout etc.. I jumped out of my cherry red Chevy Cobalt and popped the trunk, and grabbed my watercolor backpack and my flute. Just like any normal day, I walked through the doors of school unaware of the fate that would await me later that day. I walked down the hall, passed the boys locker room where some of my then-boyfriend Connor's friends would hang out and then to the band room, where I dropped my flute off outside the door. I walked back by the locker room, saying "hi" to a few friends standing by, and turned the corner to the line of red lockers: mine's in the middle. I turned to my locker and put in the combination, just like any other normal Tuesday morning. Then, Connor walked up behind me and said hello. While this seems like a normal thing for a boyfriend to do, Connor is not normal. He would be late to school everyday despite my pleads that he gets there just a few minutes early so that I could see him, obviously I was not that important. But, as most relationships gone bad go, I did not see that until it was too late. Anyway, I got up from the ground where I was loading my backpack full of books to hug him. All was normal as I closed my locker and walked with him down the hall to the cafeteria. We talked all morning before the bell rang for class; we talked about our weekends, what we were doing this week, and if either of us was able to hang out, very normal conversation. Then, we split our ways and headed to class. While I mixed chemicals with my best friend Andrew, he would write essays in his English 3 class. Then we would each go to second, him to band and me to AP US History. After second was the time I looked forward to: ten-minute break. During this break we would all convene in the cafeteria and talk for a few before splitting to third. I went down the stairs, turned the hall into the crowd, and saw him standing there in all his cowboy glory. I walked up to him and planted a huge kiss right on his lips. "I missed you," I cooed. "I missed you too," he replied, as flat as ever. Despite me being a very amorous individual, Connor was not one for affection. But, as before, all was well and we split off to walk to third. After another boring math class, I was off to band, a remote corner of the school in an attempt to keep from disturbing other rooms. After a class of blowing my face off, I walked out to make my way to the cafeteria when I found Connor standing there. He never met me outside my class before lunch, so I figured he might have a surprise for me, being the hopeless romantic that I am. He asked that we go straight to his truck instead of going to the cafeteria like normal so that he would not lose his parking spot. This seemed like a normal request, other than the fact that he had a female "friend" of his guarding the spot for him. While this should have alerted me, I did not think much of it: now I wish I would have. We climbed into his old GMC and he asked where I wanted to go, which was Burger King because who doesn't love a cherry ICEE right? He pulled out and started the drive when I started to kiss his cheek like normal. He told me to stop, and surprised, I asked why. Then, he dropped an atomic bomb on my heart:
"We're over Brooke, we're done,"
Out of nowhere, my world was shattered. My little fantasy world where I though I had my forever was crushed. He found his own forever, and it turns out that it was not me. He turned to me as we pulled into the Burger King parking lot: "Don't you want anything?". I shook my head. My stomach had dropped through the center of the Earth when he dropped that bomb, no food could reach it now. Sitting there choking down tears in a Burger King parking lot, I lost my world.
To be continued!
